Techint Engineering & Construction: the first company in Argentina to qualify for five ISO standards at the same time

During the last two weeks of October, a new audit was carried out to certify the company’s projects, operations and headquarters under no less than five top international ISO standards.
As it did last year, the independent testing and certification organization TÜV Rheinland visited Techint E&C’s projects, operations and offices to audit, evaluate and recertify the company according to the highest international standards. “In the same way as in an ordinary audit process, here, strengths are singled out and areas for improvement scored as part of a points system that will help us to improve our Integrated Management System (IMS),” explained Alejandro Sarubbi, Corporate Director of QHSE.
Techint E&C is the first company in Argentina, and one of the few in America, to qualify for all five ISO standards simultaneously.
Following the audit, which took over two weeks, Techint E&C has updated its certification in the following areas: Quality Management (ISO 9.001), Environmental Management (ISO 14.001), and Occupational Health and Safety Management (ISO 45.001). It also recertified for Energy Management (ISO 50.001) and, for the first time, the company was certified for Road Safety Management (ISO 39.001).
The process involved seven auditors who recommended the issuance of certificates certifying that Techint E&C meets these international standards. “We are definitely on the right path, but we must continue to work with dedication, professionalism and commitment so that we can move forward and overcome the challenges that lie before us. This is integral to our vision of continuous improvement, which is a key feature of our corporate ethos. My thanks to the entire company for deploying our IMS in such a solid way, as this allows us to continue evolving on our path towards operational excellence,” Sarubbi concluded.
