Techint E&C was commissioned to build eight external roof oil tanks measuring 98.5 meters in diameter each, and three 64-meter-diameter water storage tanks. At the time, these tanks were the largest of their kind in South America.

One of the principal challenges facing the team was carrying out these tasks on land with loose, undrained soil. Another major difficulty was the shortage of labor, as several large-scale projects were under way in the country at the same time. However, the work was completed early, and the first pieces of equipment tested and delivered to the refinery were built by our company.

“One of the biggest challenges was working in swampy terrain where the mud had such an impact on productivity. However, we still managed to finish the project ahead of schedule."
