After completing the Altamira compressor plant, which is the largest in Mexico, TC Energy executives take stock of the project, highlighting safety and quality as core values in the project cycle managed by Techint E&C.

The Altamira Compressor Station in Tamaulipas is the largest of its kind in Mexico and the largest built by TC Energy in its history: an achievement made by Techint E&C between October 2016 and December 2018.

“Working with Techint on this project has been a terrific experience. Their team is extremely experienced and take a very professional approach to safety and quality,” said Darryl Sandquist, Project Director of TC Energy, at the time.

Today, just over two years after receiving the Substantial Completion certificate from the customer, we're delighted to be sharing a video featuring Robert Johnes, President of TC Energy Mexico. He comments on the relationship uniting both companies which goes back so many decades, and says of Techint E&C: “Their passion and drive to improve in terms of meeting the needs of their customers is exemplary. Safety comes first, second is quality. I’ve been very impressed by the importance they give to quality.”

Gustavo Blejer, TC Energy Engineering and Construction Director in Mexico, adds that "Techint has done an excellent job, providing top-notch service to developers and contributing to the growth of the energy industry as a whole."

The Altamira Compressor Station contributes 2.6 million cubic feet of gas per day, representing approximately 40% of the country's consumption, supplying thermoelectric plants which produce accessible electricity for hundreds of thousands of Mexicans.
