Fraud during hiring processes

What is it?

It is a sophisticated online scam whereby job opportunities are offered that actually don't exist. This kind of fraud usually happens on fake websites, or through unsolicited emails that pretend to be from a company but use public email addresses instead, such as gmail.com, yahoo.com or live.com.
The recipients of these emails are asked to provide personal information and even make a payment to have their job applications processed, or cover certain expenses associated with applying for a position.

How can I recognize fraud in the hiring process?

    Fake documents and forms

    Scammers may ask recipients to fill out false forms related to the hiring process. The Techint E&C name and logo are often included without proper authorization.

    Personal information

    Scammers may ask people for personal information such as their address, date of birth, social security, or passport number, or even their banking information.

    Web-based email accounts

    Check the email sender address. If the URL is not @techint.com, it’s not from a representative of Techint E&C. Perpetrators quite often create fake emails on platforms like Google (Gmail), Live or Yahoo.

    Rates

    Scammers may ask applicants to send funds to pay for application fees or something similar. Techint E&C will never ask you to pay to process documents or visas, or for any other employment-related reason.

    Request

    Scammers often use a pushy or even desperate tone to get what they want from their victims.
