Civil architecture works

The Techint E&C and Dycasa consortium was charged with the construction and commissioning of three new sections for the H Line in the Buenos Aires subway network, including tunnels, stations, a maintenance and repairs workshop, and train depot sheds. The extension made it possible to transport 300,000 passengers a day, connecting the northern and southern ends of the Argentine capital along a 12-kilometer stretch, the largest infrastructure project undertaken in the network in six decades.

Throughout the process, three priorities were respected: operator well-being, tunnel safety and the proper care of the water, soil and air. To reduce the impact of the works on some of the city’s most emblematic and highly populated areas, featuring commercial activity and heavy vehicular traffic, the tunnels and stations in several sections were entirely built using underground excavation systems which employed access ramps on less busy streets.

Connecting the city

  • Julieta Rembado · Operations Engineer

"Building the Santa Fe station was a major challenge as we had to dig under an existing tunnel. We were working at night, around the clock, to finish in time."

  • Santiago Mascali · Supervisor for Railway signals, Communications and Power.

"Being at the worksite is immensely satisfying for me. These six years have taught me so much. I’ll never forget all the things I’ve learned."
