International Day for the Preservation of the ozone layer

Published 16.9.2022

Today, at Techint E&C we reinforce our commitment to all those actions that reduce the impact on our ecosystem and in the Ozone Layer.

Every September 16, the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer is commemorated. This date was established by the UN to celebrate the entry into force of the Montreal Protocol, one of the international environmental agreements that helped put a stop to the depletion of the ozone layer.

Signed in 1987, the protocol seeks to protect it by reducing the production and consumption of almost 100 chemical substances, which deplete and damage it. Since coming into effect in 1989, more than 98% of controlled substances have been successfully phased out, helping to reverse damage to the ozone layer.

At Techint E&C, we maintain and reinforce our commitment to all those actions that reduce the impact on our ecosystem. That is why all our projects have a Sustainable Management Plan, which, considering the particularities of each work and the context in which they are developed, implements measures for environmental protection during the development of activities.

In addition, we have an Energy Management System, certified under the international standard ISO 50001:2018 to systematically optimize the performance of use and control the amount of energy consumed.

The 10 Energy Performance rules, together with constant training and innovative processes, contributed to reducing fuel consumption in 2021 and, consequently, the amount of CO2 emissions.

Through these initiatives, we continuously improve the methods and techniques in our operations and, through innovation strategies, the responsible use and consumption of energy in our activities, we continue to care for our planet.
