GPNK: A project to remember

Published 18.12.2023

Hello there! We hope you are doing well.

As the end of the year draws near, we’re dedicating this special issue to share with you a documentary showcasing the construction of the President Nestor Kirchner Gas Pipeline, known as the GPNK , which runs across Argentina. A work that was completed in barely ten months when traditionally a project of this size would take approximately two years.

There are engineering and construction projects around the world that are one-of-a-kind. Some transform organizations, others promise a better future for countries, and some do both. Techint Engineering & Construction was created back in 1945, but cut its teeth the next year on the first project in Argentina: the 1,700-km gas pipeline linking Buenos Aires and Comodoro Rivadavia.

In tune with our tradition of developing transformative projects, the GPNK has raised the bar yet again, changing up the energy game. In contributing to Argentina’s energy self-sufficiency, it is also opening up the opportunity for the country to act as a major energy hub for the region.

The GPNK documentary, directed by Gianfranco Quattrini , offers a unique perspective of the process, told in the words of those who made it happen.

There are other interesting points about the documentary, such as the fact that it was premiered at the 38th Mar del Plata International Film Festival held this year as well as that it involved 49 days of filming in four provinces across Argentina.

We believe that this film is well worth watching, but especially for those of us in the industry, as it’s always interesting to see how our projects make a real impact on people, communities and countries.

Happy holidays and until next time!
