Techint E&C opens offices in Houston to strengthen its presence in the North American market

Published 13.8.2025

With the opening of its first offices in Houston, Techint Engineering & Construction takes a key step towards consolidating its presence in a strategic market for the oil & gas, energy transition and steel sectors.

After nearly a decade of operating in the United States from Tenaris' facilities, Techint Engineering & Construction opened its own offices in Houston, Texas, in the first half of 2025, marking a milestone in its regional expansion strategy.

“As part of our commercial strategy, we sought to establish a solid base in Houston that would allow us to position ourselves more strongly in this market, especially in the oil and gas and steel segments, and to pursue opportunities related to the global energy transition,” said Pablo Arena, Business Development Manager.

Over the years, the local team has not only provided support for projects developed in the US, but has also collaborated on initiatives for Mexico. “That is why we consider this decision to be strategic for Techint, especially for the Northern Region,” added Alberto Molinero, Business Development Director.

A new operational approach

In this new phase, the company will focus its efforts on strengthening its current Managed Labour services—such as those currently provided to Tenaris USA—and expanding this offering to other players in the steel sector.

It will also seek to capitalise on Vinton Steel's experience to offer Project Management services in conjunction with Tenova USA, generating comprehensive value propositions for the industry.

The team will also focus on actively identifying new opportunities in engineering projects in segments such as steel, power, oil & gas, LNG and energy transition.

Infrastructure up to the challenge

The construction of the offices took about six months and was carried out under the energy efficiency and excellence standards established by the Techint Group.

“The project complied with corporate construction and architectural standards, was completed on schedule, and the IT team played a key role in the implementation of all systems,” explained Pablo Arena.

Currently, the Houston team is made up of employees from the Administration, Commercial, Operations, Human Resources and Supply Chain areas.

“This is a fundamental step towards strengthening our commercial relationships and expanding our portfolio of projects in the United States and throughout North America,” concluded Molinero.
