We completed the final regular-line weld on the Duplicar Norte project!

Published 11.9.2026

The Duplicar Norte project, which Techint E&C is developing for Oldelval in the Neuquén Basin and represents the third consecutive project executed for the client, reached one of the most important milestones of the works with the completion of the final regular-line weld on the oil pipeline, along 207 kilometers of pipeline route.

This is a key stage due to its technical complexity, the number of resources involved and its impact on the overall project schedule.

To reach this milestone, the teams completed approximately 7,410 joints at the Double-Jointing Plant and nearly 9,840 using semi-automatic welding along the regular line. In total, the project includes approximately 17,250 welded joints, including those associated with tie-ins, crossings and connections that are still under execution.

Completing the final regular-line weld within the planned timeframe was made possible by careful planning, coordination among the different work fronts and the commitment of the teams working on site every day.

“Completing the final regular-line weld within the planned timeframe is a source of great pride for the entire team. We reached one of the project’s most important milestones, which involves a key portion of the resources and operational effort. This achievement reflects the commitment, coordination and technical capabilities of everyone who made it possible,” said Luciano Jara, Welding Supervisor at Techint E&C.

While tie-in activities are still underway, including welds associated with crossings and connections between the sections being lowered into the trench, this milestone marks a turning point and allows the project to move forward into the next stages of construction.

Duplicar Norte will increase oil transportation capacity from Vaca Muerta and contribute to strengthening the infrastructure needed to support production growth in the Neuquén Basin.

The project continues the work Techint E&C has been carrying out alongside Oldelval and reaffirms the company’s experience in executing large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
