The company, which has been part of the entity for 25 years, was honored for its bilateral work in sustainable mining development.

The Chilean-Argentine Chamber of Commerce awarded Techint Engineering & Construction for its bilateral relations and positive impact on sustainable mining development. The distinction was presented by Jorge Faurie, Argentine ambassador to Chile, and Charles Kimber, president of the entity.

“Through significant projects like the Desalinated Water Supply System for Codelco's Northern District (SADDN) and C20+ for Minera Collahuasi, as well as other works such as the mega-project Quebrada Blanca 2 and the Basic Engineering for the HIF project –which contributes to the energy transition– we want to recognize the great work that Techint E&C has done in Chile in 2023,” said Kimber in his speech during the event, which took place at the Argentine embassy in Chile on May 9th.

The award was received by Claudio Perillo, President of the Andean Region, and Rodrigo Larralde Campos, Deputy Project Director of the SADDN project and Director at the Chamber representing Techint E&C. “It is an honor for us to be part of the Chamber, and we are very happy to receive this recognition. Techint E&C is an international company that strengthens from the synergy between countries,” stated Perillo.

The company representative added: “Our projects in Chile have a significant portion of their engineering developed in Argentina, for example, and this demonstrates that we can work together for a common goal and enhance each other from all the places where we have a presence. We hope to continue working to boost industries both in Chile and Argentina, and throughout the rest of Latin America, for many more years.”

For his part, Larralde Campos commented: “We are motivated by the Chamber recognizing our contribution to Chile's sustainable development, both in water projects through our desalination and aqueduct projects, SADDN and C20+, and in Energy Transition with HIF, whose pilot plant in the country is already producing carbon-neutral e-fuels that will be used in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup  (a support series for Formula 1 races in Europe).”

Partners, directors, and members of companies that are part of the Chamber attended the event.
