Techint E&C to replace a section of the Tailings Transportation System.

At the end of October, the company signed a new contract with Anglo American to continue working at the Los Bronces mining complex, a copper and molybdenum mine located 65 kilometers from Santiago de Chile, high up in the Andes mountain range.

The project contemplates replacing a 2.2 km section of 14” and 16” piping which makes up part of the Tailings Transportation System. Activities began on October 26 and are expected to conclude by the end of February 2021. 

“This contract is critical for the Andean Region, especially for Chile, as it reflects the confidence that a world-class customer of the caliber of Anglo American has in our commitment and capabilities. The important thing is that these works ensure operational continuity which is vital for a project as relevant and emblematic as Los Bronces,” explains Jorge Donoso, General Manager of Techint Chile S.A.
