With breastfeeding rooms and Maternity Mentoring, Techint E&C strengthens its diversity and equity policy

As part of its global diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, Techint E&C promotes initiatives aimed at the well-being of mothers, encouraging a balance between personal and professional life.
During International Breastfeeding Week, Techint Engineering and Construction reaffirms its commitment to creating inclusive work environments that include support policies for female employees who are mothers.
Breastfeeding rooms in offices and projects
Since 2018, Techint E&C has been implementing the Breastfeeding Room Program, which began as a pilot project in Brazil and Mexico and currently has 33 breastfeeding rooms in offices and projects around the world.
These rooms are equipped in accordance with local regulations, ensuring optimal conditions for the extraction and storage of breast milk in a safe, hygienic, and comfortable environment.
“The breastfeeding rooms demonstrate the company's commitment to the well-being of its female employees who are mothers and their babies, allowing them to fulfill their role as mothers without giving up their professional goals,” said Adriana Valdez, Community Relations Leader.
Maternity Mentoring Program
According to data collected in the 2023 Diversity Survey, motherhood represents one of the main challenges for women's professional development. With the aim of supporting women during this stage and reducing potential biases, Techint E&C launched the Maternity Mentoring program in partnership with the specialist consultancy Giving Birth.
The initiative offers personalized advice to pregnant women and guidance sessions for their leaders, structured in three key stages: Vision, Reinvention, and Projection.
“I am happy and proud to work for a company that cares about these issues and provides tools so that mothers can continue to develop professionally,” said Natalia Rojas, Instrument Design Manager for the North Region.
Commitment to diversity and equity
Both the Breastfeeding Rooms Program and the Maternity Mentoring Program are part of a broader agenda at Techint Engineering & Construction that seeks to strengthen the organizational culture by promoting respectful, equitable, and discrimination-free environments.
