Techint Engineering and Construction reaffirms its commitment to inclusion on International Day of Persons with Disabilities

In 1992, the United Nations General Assembly established December 3 as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with the aim of promoting their rights, well-being, and full participation in all areas of society. For 2025, the UN defined the theme as “Promoting inclusive societies for social progress,” emphasizing that sustainable development is only possible when all people can actively participate.
In line with this global approach, Techint Engineering & Construction continues to strengthen its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all regions where it operates.
“This day reminds us of the importance of removing physical and attitudinal barriers and building environments that are truly accessible to all,” says Vanessa Mota, Community Relations and D&I Senior Manager.
“When we look at data from the UN and the ILO—16% of the world's population lives with a significant disability and more than 80% do not have access to the labor market—we understand that promoting inclusion is urgent,” adds Luján Nölter, Diversity & Inclusion Manager.
A commitment that extends across all our operations
The company promotes a culture in which people with disabilities find real opportunities for professional development and a sense of belonging. This approach is already part of operations in Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, and India, and continues to grow through local and corporate initiatives.
In September, Techint E&C created the Subcommittee on People with Disabilities, a space dedicated to promoting initiatives, sharing best practices, and deepening the conversation on accessibility and inclusion.
“As signatories to the Global Compact, we work to ensure that each commitment translates into real action. The Subcommittee is a clear sign that we are continuing to move towards a more inclusive company,” explains Leonardo Blenkmann, Diversity & Inclusion Leader and member of the corporate Diversity team.
Open to new ideas
The creation of the Subcommittee on People with Disabilities, the initiatives promoted by different areas, and the openness to new ideas show that Techint E&C's major projects are built collectively, promoting an increasingly diverse, accessible, and inclusive culture.
