In Los Toldos II Este, Techint E&C carried out the first experience of the Women’s Inclusion and Training Program on Site focused on the electrical specialty.
In December, 38 women from the maintenance, warehouse, general services, and workshop teams of the Los Toldos II Este project participated in this initiative, which aims to train, include, and support female personnel currently working in non-technical operational roles, providing them with tools to help project their professional development within the project.
The program was developed in collaboration with the National Technological University (UTN), which was responsible for designing and teaching the content. The electrical specialty was defined based on the specific needs of the project and validated by the supervision team to ensure training aligned with the real demands of the site and with prospects for technical development.
Throughout the course, the participants acquired technical knowledge and key skills for their roles, expanding their opportunities to move into technical positions within the project. With four-hour daily sessions that combined theory and practice, taught by a specialist instructor, the training program lasted a total of 60 intensive hours. Of these, 40 hours were dedicated to technical training, structured in progressive modules covering the fundamentals of electricity, use of materials and tools, industrial electrical installations, blueprint reading, and a final practical stage with evaluation.
In parallel, a 20-hour management training was conducted, aimed at strengthening key skills for working on-site, such as effective communication, teamwork, and safety. This section also included content related to diversity and solidarity among women, the prevention of workplace violence, the creation of safe spaces, and professional development.
At the end of the program, the participants received a certification in the specialty, accrediting the basic knowledge necessary to work as electrician assistants. “This ensures that the training contributes to the projection of a technical career within the project and allows us to respond to an increasingly visible need: increasing the real participation of women in on-site specialties,” highlighted María de Luján Nölter, Diversity & Inclusion Manager.
Bettina Paredes, Warehouse Administration
“Being part of this program is very meaningful for the inclusion of women in the oil industry. We don’t usually see ourselves on-site, and even less so in the electrical area, which is why this training represents a huge opportunity to grow professionally, obtain a national UTN certification, and continue opening doors for more women in engineering and construction.”
Yamila Zumelzu, Maintenance
“For me, this program was a great challenge and a huge opportunity for the women of Rincón, where it’s not common for a company to invest in training us. Since I joined Techint, I have received constant training, and now I want to get certified to keep growing and change job categories. As a mom, this process is not just a personal challenge: it’s also an example for my children.”
Luciana Arrieta, Warehouse Administration
“This kind of training for women is very valuable, especially for those of us coming from other provinces, Mendoza in my case, who are looking for alternatives outside our home region. It opens many doors and broadens our job opportunities.”
Judit Amendola, Maintenance
“We know we are the spearhead of this program, and that similar projects will emerge from this experience. You can see the commitment and eagerness to learn from all of us, and also the responsibility the company has taken. My expectations are to grow, and being able to do so with a certification from Techint and the UTN is a huge opportunity.”
+Diversity seeks to establish itself as a development platform that, according to the priorities of each project, enables progress in incorporating women in various positions, adding specialties such as civil, mechanical, rigger, and van driving.
The experience at Los Toldos II Este marks a milestone and lays the foundation for building more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable projects, aligned with the values of Techint E&C.
