This year, the coveted award goes to Valentina Girardi, who graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering and an average grade of 9.25 from the Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA). She’s the daughter of Luca Girardi, who works at Tecsesi S.A. (Techint Steel Services).

Valentina had already won scholarships to see her through high school and university, and the latest award is a crowning achievement of her success and hard work. The company will be sending her a silver medal inscribed with her name, as well as a diploma. “It’s a source of great pride for me as her father to see everything she’s achieved, the result of her determination and effort. I’m very grateful to the company that has given her so many opportunities to shine,” says Luca.

The Award for University Excellence is offered by the company to university graduates on the Merit Award scheme for tertiary level who maintain their average grade score over 9 throughout their study career. “The Merit Award Program is channeled through the Fundación Hermanos Agustín y Enrique Rocca, as a way of rewarding outstanding students for their academic performance and effort. All children of personnel currently working for the Techint Group in Argentina are eligible,” explains Pablo Castelnuovo, the Director of Corporate Development at &C.
