The Program received first prize at the WIP Awards, an international initiative led by Women in Pipe (WIP) recognizing companies that promote the development of female talent in the construction industry.
The Women’s Inclusion and Training Program for Construction Sites was awarded in the Large Companies category. Techint E&C was shortlisted alongside ICOP, an Italian civil construction company, and NaTran, a French gas transportation company. Overall, the awards attracted 36 submissions from 28 companies across 13 countries, distributed among the Women, Medium-Sized Companies, and Large Companies categories.
The recognition highlights initiatives that make a meaningful contribution to the development of people, communities, and the industry, while promoting best practices that can be replicated internationally.
Launched in 2022, the Women’s Inclusion and Training Program for Construction Sites aims to expand women’s access to technical and operational roles on construction projects through specialized training, on-the-job support, and employment opportunities.
Since its creation, the Program has trained more than 380 women in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico, delivering over 27,000 hours of training across nine technical specialties related to construction and industry. The initiative promotes women’s participation in the sector and creates long-term development opportunities, reflected in a 72% employment retention rate after project completion.
“This recognition highlights Techint E&C’s commitment to diversity and opportunity creation, contributing to a more inclusive industry. It is a collective achievement, resulting from coordinated efforts and teamwork, demonstrating the impact of working with purpose and collaboration across our projects,” said Vanessa Mota, Community Relations and D&I Senior Manager.
In addition to creating new employment opportunities for participants, the initiative helps strengthen the availability of qualified talent for projects, expand capabilities within the communities where the company operates, and build increasingly diverse teams.
The WIP Awards are an international initiative promoted by Women in Pipe (WIP), an association established in 2022 to foster female participation and the development of new skills within the pipeline and piping industry.
This achievement reflects Techint E&C’s ongoing efforts to build more diverse and inclusive environments and reinforces the impact that concrete actions can generate when they are transformed into real opportunities for training, growth, and employment.
